lying on my back
facing up the ceiling;
the night is evolving.
clay summer skin glowing healthy
beneath the firefly lightbulbs, (radiant).
and something dripping off your breath
gives you away.
-you knew you still had me
when i curled my chin into
your shoulder that morning.
blink, awake, and smile;
there's something behind your skin
that is a lifetime more at peace this year.
and you inhale and sink in.
